Music composer, arranger, keyboard player and teacher

Leoš J. Kuba 

studied piano at the Folk School of Arts and then privately with František Kratochvíl. He completed his music education by studying composition at the Music Faculty of JAMU with professors A. Piňos and Fr. Emmert. He studied film score with Z. Pololáník, piano improvisation with A. Linka and postgraduate course Conducting symphony orchestra with doc. E. Skoták. He participated in the International Jazz Pianist Competition in Poland and in the International  M. Solal Competition  in Paris.
In 1988 he won the Jazztival Prize in Brno (today Jazzfest) for the most impressive musical style.
From 1990 he worked as keyboard player, arranger and occasionally as a conductor at the National Theatre Brno, then at the Brno City Theatre
He played his own compositions and arrangements under the leadership of prominent conductors of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zlín Philharmonic Orchestra, the Olomouc Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonia, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Castle Guards and Police, Petr Macek Orchestra, Václav Marek Blue Star Band, Ústí nad Orlicí Brass Orchestra, etc ..

Since 1985 he played the piano in the jazz group Jam Trio:
then with double bass player J. Kalasz, drummer P. Kozma and saxophonist L. Tamaškovič;
